Notice of Public Hearing: Sufficiency of Instructional Materials 2026-2027 SY

The Summerville Elementary School Governing Board will hold a PUBLIC HEARING at a Regular Board Meeting on September 9, 2026. The public is cordially invited to attend the meeting in person or online and provide comment on the Sufficiency of State Approved Textbooks for the 2026-2027 School Year.

The Public Hearing is to determine, pursuant to Education Code Section §60119, that

each pupil enrolled in a school has sufficient textbooks or instructional materials, or both, that are aligned to the content standards adopted pursuant to Section §60605 in each of the following subjects, as appropriate, that are consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum framework adopted by the state board: Mathematics, Science, History/Social Science, English/language arts, and health.

Members of the public may also provide comments in writing prior to the meeting that can be sent via email to DistrictOffice@sumel.org or mailed to the above address.
